Because of today's fast-paced and time-demanding environment especially in the workplace, multi-functional devices and office equipment offer many benefits. One example is the all-in-one printer. Read on to know more about this multi-tasking office equipment.
Features of multi-functional printers
Multi-functional printers today usually include a printer, photocopier, scanner, fax, and telephone in one equipment. Using one means you can save on office space and money. Because you have one equipment that can do several tasks, you don't have to purchase a separate copier, scanner, telephone, or fax.
Common problems with all-in-one printers
Despite these advantages, all-in-one printers also have flaws. You may have to compromise on the quality of a feature if you have a multi-functional printer. Your all-in-one printer may produce great prints but the scanned images may not be of high quality.
All-in-one printer recommendations
If you think your needs will be addressed by an all-in-one printer, then go ahead and buy yourself one. The following are some all-in-one printer models that are worth checking out: HP C4680, Kodak EasyShare 5500, and the Epson WorkForce 600.

Crime fighting takes a new, advanced form through document tracking among laser printers. This is a good news, bearing in mind that there is a considerable increase in the number of counterfeiters nowadays. This new technology would make criminals think twice before forging documents.
This kind of thing reminds of one episode of the Brady Bunch where Marsha (I think) tried to trace an anonymous letter-sender by comparing the keystrokes in a typewriter. You cannot compare keystrokes from a laser printer because every printout is the same. Actually, the emergence of laser printers made it easy for criminals to fake money and forge documents. But somehow, printer companies found a way to stop this by enabling the tracking of a certain printout back to its owner.
How does this work? Well, several laser printer makers actually encrypt their products' manufacturing codes and serial numbers to their colored copiers and laser printers in super miniscule prints. These products then stamp these codes and numbers to every document it ever prints. These prints (which aren't seen at first glance and can only be seen when you shine a LED light on it) therefore make it easy for the government to track these frauders. Pretty neat, don't you think?

To further enhance the quality of printing digital photos, Kodak fabricated a photo printer at its best. This is the Kodak EasyShare Series 3 Compact Photo Printer that functions only with cameras manufactured by Kodak. This latest technology is a must-have printer useful at home and at the workplace. It has a built-in Bluetooth and the camera works as the screen that requires a lot of space. It is dubbed as a virtual printer in a sense that it has Bluetooth, Kodak WiFi card, and a connection for USB. This allows you to print photos when the printer is connected to a computer.
When you connect your camera, the screen is kind of doubled and you can see the images that you are about to print. The photo printer itself can work as a station where you can place your stuff and it can also be a charger. Not only that, you can also make some finishing touches like red eye fixing and rest-assured that you will get an enhanced quality of print. Moreover, other interesting features make printing truly pleasurable and satisfying.

There is no doubt that Epson revolutionized the printing technology. It is the undisputed leader in this particular field of technology. Adding to its broad selection of amazing printers is its latest printing wonder, the Epson R230. This printer has just given birth to a totally brand new Epson R340 with more enhanced innovations.
Epson R340, just like the its predecessor, still utilizes six-color photo ink cartridges and the same 5760x1440 resolution. These are the two important factors to be considered when purchasing a new one. Of course, for enhanced digital image output, one must take into account the printer's speed. The quality matters a lot, but quantity need not be taken for granted.
This technology has a color screen where you can view the photographic image and a monotone display that shows menu commands, prompts, mode settings, and the color image to be printed. It has a better angular style. In addition, it has a more silent operation compared with the other alternative. It is indeed a must-have quality printer. So, if you want to produce better, clearer, and faster results, this is the right printer for you.

Have you ever tried directly printing cool layouts on your CDs on the printer? Some printers say they are capable of printing CDs directly, but almost often the end product is not as good as the ones you buy from the music store. Printing CDs in your own inkjet printer may sound cool since you can personalize your collection of downloaded CDs, but this has a few drawbacks compared to the professionally finished ones.
CDs printed directly are usually less durable since they smear easily. What you do is to finish off the disc or spray it with lacquer. Better yet if CD printing for you is something you want to get serious about, try using a thermal printer. These printers work better because their inks melt directly onto the disc preventing smearing.
Another drawback is that printing quality depends much on the kind of label to be used. Usually, it is better to use labels that could be peeled off so you can let them dry first before attaching it to the CD. The good thing about these labels is they won't easily smear.

Remember the days when there were no printers? When you had to hand in your projects typewritten or worse, handwritten? Thank God for modern computers, but mostly too, for printers. For without this computer's friend, we would still be stuck at liquid eraser, typewriter ribbons and big heavy, noisy machines.
Printers have made our life easier. And who would think we could print our own photos now? Photo printers and the ever popular digital cameras are slowly putting photo-developing stores out of business. Printers are so convenient. First, typewriters and second, film-developing stores. What's next?

Cross-breeding is done to improve animal specie. It's the same for printers too. In printers, it is done to innovate and be of more convenience to users. Lexmark claims to be the first one to incorporate a CD driver and burner in its printers. It launched P450 which prints your photos directly from your digital camera.
You can then save it on a CD minus the process of saving it on your computer. With a 2.4 inch display, you can immediately view your photos, even edit it.
