It can be so frustrating to see your printer suddenly stop doing its job. You may then ask yourself what causes the paper jam and how can I fix this? Read on if you want to know more.
Causes of paper jams when printing
Printer jams are more often than not a user error. This can happen during large printing projects when you tend to overuse your printer. A common cause is overheating, particularly an overheated fuser. This happens with large printing loads, which results in the fuser heating up. This makes the paper's corners to bend that the paper can get stuck and cause a jam. Printing on the wrong type of paper also results in paper jams, especially when the paper is too thick for the printer. You can also blame the paper jam to printing labels, torn paper, as well as dirty or cracked rollers, which may require the assistance of a technician for troubleshooting or replacement.
Basic solution to printing paper jams
If paper jams get in your way, the first thing to do is to turn off your printer. Check the paper tray and remove the paper slowly if there's a visible part of it. If not, then open the printer door to manually remove the stuck paper. Just be careful in doing so, so you won't tear the paper and cause more damage. Turn on the printer and see if it works fine. If not, consider the possible reasons for the jam. Could it be the wrong paper type, overheated fuser, or printing labels? Do not push the printer to finish the heavy load of printing. Give it some time to rest. If nothing good happens after a break, then consider asking for a technician's help.
To prevent paper jams, do not put different types of paper in the tray. It's also not wise to fill the tray. Make sure that when feeding papers, they are well-aligned.

I'm the guy who generally troubleshoots my printer whenever a paper gets stuck or some signals of despair appear on my printer's LCD screen. When "unconquerable" cases do happen though, I leave it to my repairman on the next block to do the job. If you ask me, a laser printer dilemma is not at all difficult to deal with. All you need to do is detect the possible cause and consult the manual to see if there's any way you can adjust the printer's parts. At least, that's how a "pro" like me does it.
For instance, if something happens over and over again (e.g., paper jam, Photoshop images distorted, prints smear, white lines, speckled print, blackened paper), the parts probably need some cleaning up, especially the belts and rollers. Sometimes, you need to replace the cartridge or the fusing rollers, too. If the print appears rough, there's something wrong with the electronic logic circuit. Some parts need continual check-ups but you don't really have to replace them, unless the situation calls for it.
If the image doesn't come out as displayed on your screen, your pickup rollers and drive train are probably in need of replacement. Now this is a sucker: the text becomes distorted. If you encounter this problem, your toner level, scanner, or optical alignment deserve a quick lookover. Your toner level is probably too low or it may even be the result of excessive power supply. Laser printers don't just accept any kind of paper. If your LCD displays a message such as "paper jam" -- check the fuser unit.

Modern information technology has given us the internet, which we use primarily for information access and communications. Back then, we used to communicate through the snail mail system. Now, we have electronic messaging client accounts in cyberspace, which makes messaging faster and more reliable.
But, there are problems which often pop up when we least expect it regarding this electronic messaging system. No, I'm not talking about spam, for this problem is a very well known fact. What I want to discuss on this post is the problems I had on printing my electronic messages from my e-mail account. This is relatively an easy thing to do, but I had problems when I uninstalled the Norton program I had back then. I contacted the Norton technical crew, and they told me I needed to have a separate application to completely uninstall the program. I asked them if this was the cause of the printing problems I was having, and they told me that it was just about it. I then got the program, completely uninstalled Norton, and tried out printing an e-mail message. It worked, and this tip is for those who are having the same problems with any software installed on their computer system. That is, if you are having the same printing problems with your electronic messages.

Sometimes, I get the idea that there's a lot of miscalculations or misproportions in the field of digital information technology. This is because of those bugs that most, if not all, programs can't seem to be rid of entirely. Oftentimes, these bugs pop up in the places where I both expect and don't expect them to!
I don't know whether these bugs develop through the time you use these programs and equipment or they're just biding their time, waiting for just the right moment to emerge and establish themselves as the better species. But, unfortunately for them, we humans get over these bugs by developing antidotes of our own to quelch their miserable existence. Well, at least miserable for us! With this, I give you a tip in which to delete those annoying printing jobs that don't seem to vanish from your system even after trying to get rid of it!

When this actually happens, this means that the printing job is corrupted. Thus, automatice and monitoring console of the printer evidently do nothing, nothing at all. Deleting the printing job files located in the printer's system root folder is the prime option to take. Just remember to take considerable note of which printing job you want deleted, especially if you're on a network. You can do this by keeping tabs of the date and time of the printing job. Then, delete the files with the extensions .spl and .shd that you find with the exact date and time file name in the printer's system root folder.

Do you often get annoyed by the printer announcements popping each and every time someone using a computer in your network accesses the network printer? Well, it certainly adds a little load to the performance of your computer network. By removing these annoyances from the network computers and limiting it just to the network server, you'll increase the speed and performance of all the computers in your network.
I think this is how the manufacturers of high-tech electronic equipment see the people who acquire their products. Yes, they see them as persons who need to be reminded every once in a while how to work out their technical issues, however simple it is! With this, I defiantly urge you to think otherwise, and just get rid of those annoying pop-ups from any computer in a network aside from the network server.
All you need to do is access your operating system's registry editor. Just remember to do this on the network server PC. Navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlPrint, and once in, insert a disable thread DWORD value in it. Finally, put a 1 value on it so as to set broadcasts as being disabled. With this nifty tweak, may you spend your annoying pop-up-free days with your PC on a network with a network printer!

Modern electronic equipment sometimes encounter problems. These things have been an issue even since such devices were on its early stages of development. This would perhaps tell us of the concentration these manufacturers give on certain features and functions; they come up with devices that are functional in the modern way, yet have problems similar to those of their earlier counterpart versions. Well, a good example of this would have to be that which involves printers.
In our printing ventures, we sometimes experience stuck printing jobs inside those machines of ours. I, for one, don't even have an idea what to do when this happens, thus I end up damaging either the printer head, the printing lens, the printer nozzle, or the high-end printer itself. Thus, I have researched on the best foolproof way to fix those stuck printing jobs!
To do this, you have to access that reliable command prompt feature of your operating system. Once you're in, punch in this command line: STOP SPOOLER. When the printing job stops, access the START SPOOLER feature, which could be found on the bundled maintenance program of your printer. This would make your printer try to refeed itself with paper, thus spewing out the papers it has inside it.

Most modern electronic equipment need a counterpart modern software in such a way that it would function properly and provide interactive set-up features to the user. In printers, it's about the same thing. Thus, you need your word processing programs so as to print your documents and other office presentations.
So, here comes the Microsoft Windows XP operating system to answer your printing needs. Now, this platform allows seamless interactions between your printer and your PC. Plus, it could also provide you with access to your printer be it either connected to a network or on IP. Yet, there is even an alternative in using this state-of-the-art software to provide you access to the printing features of your printer.
This excellent tip was formulated for those computers who don't have LPT1 ports nor USB printers or ports. It involves using the bundled DOS application with your Microsoft operating system. You should be able to do this by accessing the properties menu tab of the printer located within your system's control panel. Then, enabling the printer pooling feature found on this dialogue box through the ports menu tab. This would then provide you with another selection box. With this selection box, you need to choose LPT1. Choosing the LPT1 port would evidently not work since your printer isn't connected via LPT1 port. So, it would go to your IP printer hub. Of course, all you need to do now is to access the old and reliable DOS application, bundled with your Microsoft Windows operating system, and print your way out of this mess!

Speed is definitely one of the main aspects which creates a fuss between the technologists who develop modern electronic devices. Unfortunately, certain upgrades are released so as to compensate for the bugs that the prior releases have. These bugs not only hinder the productivity and the efficiency of all concerned parties, but it also address issues pertaining to marketing and distribution schematics of the developers and manufacturers. With this, I would have to elaborate further and site one of the main problems some printers have on Windows XP platform.
There are problems on Windows XP registry which cause slow printing and spooling issues. With the release of Windows XP Service Pack 2, these issues were still not addressed in a rather substantial manner. Meaning to say, the slow printing solution needs to be done through certain hacks on Windows XP system registry. Well, what if the user doesn't have even an idea what the system registry is? Thus, I provide below a guideline in which to solve this slow printing problem on Windows XP platform in a rather obtuse yet effective manner.
First, key in the regedit text in the Windows Run command. Within the registry editor, search for the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Printers\DevModePerUser key. Then, delete all the entries which refer to values within the key \ . After doing so, locate the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Printers\DevModes2 key, then delete all value entries in the key \. In doing this, you would have solved your slow printing problem with Windows XP platform.

Modern electronic devices, specifically computer hardware, usually require specific applications for each device. These programs are used to maintain, troubleshoot, and provide functions and features to your computer hardware. In computer external devices, the computer's operating system has an option to find, or locate, a hardware device that is connected to the computer. The connection would either have to be direct via the computer's ports, or via a network set-up connection.
In adding and locating a printer that is connected either via direct port connection or via network connection, you must access the Add Printer feature integrated on the Windows operating system's control panel. All the operating versions of the Microsoft Windows OS suite has this feature. But, did you know that you can locate or add a printer to your computer system even without accessing this Windows integrated feature?
Yes you definitely can! All you need to do is configure your internet browser to navigate to a certain website. Here is the web address of the site in which would allow you to add or locate a printer without accessing the Add Printer option: http://servername/printers. Once you have navigated your internet browser to this site, all you need to do is select the printer you plan on installing on your system. The list containing the local printers would primarily be populated with printers that are connected either direct via your computer's ports, or via a network connection. Upon selecting the right printer to install, all you need to do next is to install the drivers for the printer.
