Because most of the ink recommended by printer companies are often expensive, the better alternative would be to buy cheaper ink cartridges from third-party ink manufacturers. Usually high-end printers are fitted with tiny nozzles that easily get clogged when generic, cheaper ink is used. However, if you have a mid-range printer or are using the printer that came with your computer, you can still get decent results even if you use discount printer cartridges.
Pros of buying discount printer cartridges
The main advantage when buying discount printer cartridges is the price. They typically cost about 1/5 of the price of original printer ink. You may suffer a bit in quality, but for ordinary printing of text documents, discount ink usually does the job fine.
Cons of buying discount printer cartridges
Discount printer cartridges are cheaper mainly because they offer lesser quality prints. When buying discount ink, you may need to fill up your printer with the ink yourself. This can be a bit messy especially if you do not know how to refill your printer. You also run the risk of voiding your warranty if you use cheaper ink. This causes your printer to break down.
If you are looking for affordable ink for your home printer, discount printer cartridges can do the job for you, especially if you are not too particular about the quality of the prints. However, for very expensive and high end printers, it would be best to stick to manufacturer-recommended ink in order to avoid mechanical problems or voiding the warranty.

Printing documents can be expensive when you consider the amount and cost of ink used. Here’s how you can save money when buying ink for your printer.
Look for reliable brands that offer printer cartridges.
Popular and economical printer brands are Hewlett Packard, Canon, and Epson. You should buy the cartridge specified by your printer’s manufacturer, as inserting the wrong cartridge will damage your printer, making you spend even more. However, you need not buy a new cartridge once you run out of ink. It’s less expensive to buy recycled printer cartridges, and they work just as well. There are also cartridge-refilling kits that you can use. The ink used in these kits can be bought in bulk at a reduced cost.
Check out online retailers.
Most online retailers offer discounts on printer cartridges, especially when you buy in bulk. Online retailers are also reliable sources of recycled printer cartridges. The cartridges they sell have been tested to make sure that they perform just as well as brand new cartridges. Cartridge refill kits are also available on the Internet, and online retailers will have detailed instructions on how to use these kits, as well as information on which kits would be best suited to the kind of printer you use.
By making use of old cartridges, you can reduce your cost and your trash. Using discount printer cartridges saves you money and helps save the environment as well!

It's kinda confusing differentiating which you could do and which you can't on those high-tech electronic devices you own. Well, there are certain patent and copyright laws, but I guess patent laws apply to prototype, and copyright laws to design. So, if this were the case, then refilling ink cartridges could then be a crime once the manufacturer asks permission from the government to grant them sole rights on the policies they set on the ink cartridges that they distribute and market.
Well, the Lexmark Corporation did exactly that. Yes, they asked for the power of enforcing a certain policy which would make refilling Lexmark cartridges illegal. Emerging from a court victory on the subject matter, it is now enforced as a policy not to refill their cartridges with ink coming from third-party manufacturers. Doing so and being caught ink-colored-handed would place you in hot water. So, I suggest you acquire brand new original ink cartridges from Lexmark if you have a Lexmark printer. After all, jail time, or bail, is definitely more costly than a brand new Lexmark original ink cartridge. Plus, you would be getting the maximum performance from your Lexmark printer if you use brand new Lexmark original ink cartridges. Well, not to mention the highest quality print-outs from your Lexmark printer.

Have you ever wondered how in the world does your Epson C43UX know when it has run out of ink? More so, the bundled application, which is an ink-monitoring program, knowing just how much ink is left in the ink cartridge! No, your Epson printer's ink cartridge perhaps does not have a mind of its own, only a chip of its own.
Yes, much like modern electronic equipment with microprocessors, this chip detects the ink levels in your ink cartridges. This has been a long standing technology, but I guess you only knew it now, didn't you? Plus, this chip holds the secret to refilling your used ink cartridge with ink so as to save you time and money!
You thought you just had to inject that Epson refill ink in your empty Epson ink cartridge and then go on with your printing life? Wrong, my friend. You see, resetting the ink cartridge's chip is what it would take in order for you to refill the empty cartridge. No, you don't need to be an MIT genius to do this, you just need a special application specifically designed to reset Epson ink cartridges. Thus, your only problem now is how to get your hands on such a well-sought program! Maybe you could reset cartridges starting out with asking the friendly attendant of the ink refilling station near you!

I have a printer, and I enjoy high quality print-outs at an affordable price. But, I tend to overlook the fact that, as with most affordable high-tech electronic equipment, all such devices tend to break down at times when I am also on the verge of a mental breakdown! To tell you the truth, this could get as often as I am doing something for our home printing business, specially when clients tend to get on my nerves by trying to rush things, you know.
So I phoned up a friend who has an HP printer, and asked about why the hell do I always have problems with the head-thingy of my printer while he's just there, cool and all with his HP printer. What he told me shed somewhat of a light way up the heavens: it's about the cartridges! HP cartridges, pricey as they may seem, have their own share of advantages. One thing is, buying original HP ink cartridges assure you of quality print-outs. Next thing would be the service warranty of your HP printer wouldn't be forfeited. Finally, when you buy original HP ink cartridges, each comes with its own printer lens. I don't know what damn printer lens are, but I just assumed they're an integral part of the integrity of a printer! Thus, unlike most printers out in the market, this feature assures its users quality print-outs and integrity from their HP printers! Just remember that with great quality and integrity comes great pricing!

If you're thinking that you would be able to save more by buying fake ink cartridges, think again. Don't fall to those cheap prices because you are bound to regret ever buying it in the end. As a matter of fact, you are to spend more if ever your printer gets damaged by these counterfeit cartridges.
Fake ink cartridges have also become the target of pirates, together with other patented products like Rolex watches, Nike shoes, and DVDs. Counterfeits of ink brands Canon, Epson, Lexmark have been circulating in the market for quite some time already. Many have been tempted by these inks that looks so genuine but are sold on a much cheaper price, then later realize that they are fake when the cartridge had damaged their print heads, started ink leaks, and produced inferior output.
It may be very easy to copy the packaging of these branded ink products, making the task of differentiating the real from fakes hard at first glance. But as consumers our formidable weapon is our common sense. Buy only from reputable stores and don't get lured by those cheap prices being offered in the streets. There are reasons behind what you may find as expensive products, and it's because they are of high quality.

Ink for printers is becoming more and more expensive nowadays. Good thing there are refilling stations around that will refill your empty inkjet cartridges. This makes printing much cheaper. Offices love refilling their cartridges because it's more economical for their company. Some consider refilling cartridges as a tedious task but with some practice, ink refilling can be easy and you'll have money to save.
Some also say that it can break your printers, but based on research, this seldom happens as long as you know how to take care of your printing machines.

Before, computer users think that printer cartridges are disposed after the ink has been used. Instead of recycling, users will rather throw the cartridges away. With innovations in the printing industry, used printer cartridges became more useful.
The development of ink refilling stations enables computer users to make the most out of the cartridges. Since ink refill is available, users opt to keep used cartridges. After all the quality of printing remains high even if the ink contained in the cartridges is refill.

I'm sure you've noticed that inkjet printer cartridges actually cost more than your printer. When you buy a new inkjet printer, they're practically giving you the printer for free because the inks cost as much. They do this because they know you will eventually need a new set of inkjet cartridges. They will earn more because you're paying for a new printer, minus the machine.
Are you with me? Inkjet printer cartridges are so expensive, it's better for you to buy a new printer, and a new one, and a new one, over and over. At least you'll be getting your money's worth from the manufacturers.

Printer cartridges are used to hold the ink and print documents or images of inkjet printers. Inkjet printers are very popular today for most computer users for they can print text and graphics in high quality. Inkjet printer cartridges are composed of nozzles that generate very tiny bubbles, which become ink droplets. Each drop if ink corresponds to the size of the text or graphics' pixels.
Using inkjet printers is very easy and convenient. They do not emit noise and can be bought in cheaper prices than laser printers. However, the printer cartridge should be replaced regularly to maintain the smooth operation of the inkjet printer.
