Do you often get annoyed by the printer announcements popping each and every time someone using a computer in your network accesses the
network printer? Well, it certainly adds a little load to the performance of your computer network. By removing these annoyances from the network computers and limiting it just to the network server, you'll increase the speed and performance of all the computers in your network.
I think this is how the manufacturers of
high-tech electronic equipment see the people who acquire their products. Yes, they see them as persons who need to be reminded every once in a while how to work out their technical issues, however simple it is! With this, I defiantly urge you to think otherwise, and just get rid of those annoying pop-ups from any computer in a network aside from the network server.
All you need to do is access your operating system's registry editor. Just remember to do this on the network server PC. Navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlPrint, and once in, insert a disable thread DWORD value in it. Finally, put a 1 value on it so as to set broadcasts as being disabled. With this nifty tweak, may you spend your annoying pop-up-free days with your PC on a network with a network printer!
