I'm the guy who generally troubleshoots my printer whenever a paper gets stuck or some signals of despair appear on my printer's LCD screen. When "unconquerable" cases do happen though, I leave it to my repairman on the next block to do the job. If you ask me, a laser printer dilemma is not at all difficult to deal with. All you need to do is detect the possible cause and consult the manual to see if there's any way you can adjust the printer's parts. At least, that's how a "pro" like me does it.
For instance, if something happens over and over again (e.g., paper jam, Photoshop images distorted, prints smear, white lines, speckled print, blackened paper), the parts probably need some cleaning up, especially the belts and rollers. Sometimes, you need to replace the cartridge or the fusing rollers, too. If the print appears rough, there's something wrong with the electronic logic circuit. Some parts need continual check-ups but you don't really have to replace them, unless the situation calls for it.
If the image doesn't come out as displayed on your screen, your pickup rollers and drive train are probably in need of replacement. Now this is a sucker: the text becomes distorted. If you encounter this problem, your toner level, scanner, or optical alignment deserve a quick lookover. Your toner level is probably too low or it may even be the result of excessive power supply. Laser printers don't just accept any kind of paper. If your LCD displays a message such as "paper jam" -- check the fuser unit.

If there is one thing I can say about Lexmark printers, that would be its excellent line of all-in-one printers. What I meant by all-in-one printers are printers that are also multi-tasking devices. Such printers also have scanners, photocopiers, fax functions, and even phone features. Unlike other leading printer manufacturers, Lexmark's all-in-one printer products are widely preferred by many consumers, especially those who want multi-tasking printing devices.

For less than $400, you can own a latest Lexmark printer. The Lexmark X342n has an easy-to-use four-in-one functions, such as printing, scan, copy, and fax. As for its printing functions, X342n prints up to 30 documents per minute. Its Sheet Drawer can house more than 500 papers, which is like placing an entire ream of paper in the paper drawer. Such feature is very handy since it is hassle free and you do not need to frequently feed more papers in the drawer.
Saturday, May 12. 2007
The copy and scan features of Lexmark X342n are as excellent as its printing output. Just like its printing capacity, X342 printer can make copies up to 30 documents per minute. The printer's legal size glass and book hinges give copy flexibility on large books and documents. As for its scanning tasks, X342n can scan documents on legal size papers or documents, whether black and white or colored texts or papers. The printer's automatic document feeder can store up to 50 scan papers.

Canon sure does not want to be left behind among other leading printer product manufacturers. Why? Well, Canon has just recently announced its three latest printers - the i965, i865, and i905. The latest Canon printers are the replacement for the old models of i950, i850, and the iS830D. When it comes to Canon product popularity and efficient printing output, the Canon Bubble Jet i865 seems to be more keen to consumer's printing needs.
Thursday, May 10. 2007
Just like its predecessors i850, Bubble Jet i865 also has a black ink for a higher ink contrast and high quality photo prints. Take note that i865 is compliant to PicBridge. This means that the Canon printer enables printing through a main connection to PB compatible camcorder or camera, using a USB cable. Moreover, the i865 is known as the fastest jet ink Canon printer in the market today, due to its 16ppm color and print speeds of 23ppm mono. Hence, Canon i865 is best for those who are always rushing, and could not afford to wait for slow-paced printers.
Wednesday, May 9. 2007
Included in the Canon i865 package is the Easy-Photoprint software. The software makes use of collected information on Exif 2.2 to make better quality and more natural output photo prints. You can also download the software in the Canon main website. The software also simplifies your printing of pages from the Internet. It works through scaling down your output so that the entire web page will be printed evenly, even if it goes over the multiple screen.

An expensive printer and top quality ink are not the only factors for you to have a perfect printed document or photo. The papers used in printing is also another factor to achieve a better print output. As you see, the market offers different kinds of paper materials for printing, including watercolor, archival, and photo. In fact, with too many kinds of print paper today, I am beginning to wonder what such out-of-this-world words, such as "swellable" or "porous," stand for-- and what exactly they can offer you.
Monday, May 7. 2007
The paper manufactured by most photo paper producers are just the same with the traditional photo based papers. The only difference is the coating image. Remember that the photo coating type determines the quality and performance of the printed photos with regard to output and fade resistance. Meanwhile, instant-dry prints, as what the term suggests, consist of refined glued particles that contain pores or air-spaces in between. When the spaces are filled with ink, the ink will dye and the water will evaporate.
Sunday, May 6. 2007
Too bad, but there is really nothing you can do to to prevent light fading in your tons of photo prints. Not unless you hide all your prized photos in a small box. So if you want long lasting photo prints, you might consider buying Epson's pigmented ink or one of the HP 6 or 8 color units. With this ink on your photo papers, you might have more than 20 years or so intact prints. Also, the best way to keep your photos from fading is for you to take care of them. You may also consider framing them.

When it comes to printing, what we look for is quality and speed. But with the advent of wireless internet connectivity, people just seemed to go mobile-crazy and shit! Now, printers just don't have to be fast, affordable, and of high-quality when it comes to its printing capabilities. Yes, it has to be portable as well! But with the MY_WAY mobile printer, the manufacturers of this crap just seemed to miss out on the first aspect most people look out for in a printer, and that's speed!
Friday, May 4. 2007
The MY_WAY mobile printer is from Olivetti, one of the lesser known manufacturers of good printing machines. Now this printer provides good quality print-outs, not to mention maximum portability due to its size. But, I'm afraid the manufacturers just seemed to forget the first thing we look for in a printing machine, more so in a mobile printer! Yes, and that would have to be speed. With this mobile printing machine, you get slow photo prints. But the photo print-outs that this printer can come up with has enough quality to give HP a run for its money!
Thursday, May 3. 2007
With the MY_WAY mobile printing machine from Olivetti, you are assured of maximum portability. This is because it is bluetooth-enabled, which means that's it's absolutely wireless! Plus, you can easily connect your digital camera to this printer so as to print what you have in your digital camera's memory card. Yes, with this printer, there's no need for a computer, a printer memory card, and cables! But, you just have to wait a little longer for those print-outs. This is because the manufacturers of this product probably compensated speed for maximum portability and quality.

Mobile computing has changed the way we do business. Back in the days before wireless and mobile gizmos, we were limited to our office buildings and homes for our computing ventures. Now, with digital communication systems paving the way for mobile communications and wireless digital information access, we can now do business while on the go. There's even an add-on to our mobile exploits, and these are those portable printers. The Fujifilm MP-70 mobile printer is just the right tool for your portable photo printing needs.
Tuesday, May 1. 2007
Photo printing is now becoming mobile due to the proliferation of mobile phones equipped with digital cameras. Not only mobile phones, but small digital cameras were the first to actually produce the need for an actual mobile printer. With this, the Fujifilm MP-70 can easily print photos the size of credit card frames. Plus, this portable printer can connect itself to your handy mobile phone via infrared connectivity. Just remember that your mobile phone should be equipped with a digital camera, for this printer would be useless otherwise.
Monday, April 30. 2007
The Fujifilm MP-70 mobile printing machine, or portable printer, can only print photos, and nothing more. This is due to its sheer size. You see, this mobile printer can only produce photo print-outs the size of credit card frames. But because it is from Fujifilm, this printer is equipped with an application that automatically enhances the quality of your photos. This is because photos captured with mobile camera telephony devices are rather low in resolution and thus quality. So you should always acquire original Fujifilm ink for this printer so as to provide yourself with high-quality photo print-outs from this baby.
Sunday, April 29. 2007
Electronic gizmos nowadays are rapidly being fused with the developments from digital information technology. This is done to provide the people of the world more functions and features on a single gizmo. But among the aspects that are being capitalized and developed by the manufacturers of such gadgets, portability is the main thing they're looking out for. Yet prortability is just not enough for these people. It has to have flexibility, as well. The same is true for those people who are thinking of acquiring a good portable printer. HP has certainly given the people of the world a better option when it actually comes to mobile printing capability.
Saturday, April 28. 2007
With the Photosmart 475 GoGo portable printing machine release, HP has included additional functions and features on it. Since it is among the gadgets on their portable printing production line, this baby is very easy to carry around. Plus, it also has fast printing speeds, as much as high-quality printing capabilities. Since it's from HP, it would be good to know that it has the same features when it actually comes to quality printing. But with this gizmo, quality printing capabilities while on the go is now a possibility.
Friday, April 27. 2007
The HP Photosmart 475 GoGo portable printer also has loads of storage space. With this gizmo, you could bunch up at least 1000 digital images in it. In case you want to actually fill it up with such a volume of digital photos, it would be probably good for you to know that its printing capabilities isn't affected with such a load. What's good about this printer is that you could partner it up with a handy digital camera. In doing so, you turn yourself into a mobile photo print shop. If it actually comes to quality and flexibility, chances are, this printer would come in real handy.
Thursday, April 26. 2007
The manufacturers of electronic gizmos, particularly of those high-end printing gadgets, are seeing the advantages it could gain from developing portable printing machines. This is because of how we all lead our lives nowadays. Printing has turned from a full-fledged company business to a lucrative business venture in the field of retail. What I mean by this is that more and more people would rather buy themselves a printing machine than acquire the services of a print shop or something. With this, HP is among the top choices of the people when it actually comes to a portable printing machine, more so now with their release of the Photosmart 475 GoGo portable printer.
Wednesday, April 25. 2007
This HP portable printer is actually the first to have a relatively larger paper size print function. It has this 5"x7" printing size, which is generally large as compared to the other portable printing gadgets in the market. Plus, because it's from HP, chances are you'd be ending up with quality print-outs from this baby. But keep in mind that quality and portability comes with a price, more so if it's from this manufacturer. But what you won't find in this printer, or any other portable printing machine, is the flexibility to print any paper size while on the go. With this printer, your limited to printing half-sized photos and documents, so you can't use this machine to print full-paper sized ones!
Tuesday, April 24. 2007
You see, portable printing is now the top choice of photo-printing geeks. This is because with a portable printing machine, all you need would be a handy digital camera to turn yourself into a walking and breathing photo-print shop! Plus, with this HP printer, you don't have to frequently monitor the data storage space you have on your digital camera. This is because this portable printing machine is fully equipped with a large-enough data storage space integrated on it! By large-enough, what I mean is quite a larger storage space compared to other portable printers, more so those portable printing gizmos that don't have such a damn feature!
Monday, April 23. 2007
The aspect of portability has been a very lucrative investment that is being exploited by the manufacturers of handheld digital devices. This is because people nowadays want everything to be mobile, such as communications, information access, entertainment systems, and even printing capabilities. With this, printer manufacturers are going great lengths just to outdo each other in the damn portable printing field. Since portability is being resolved, another aspect comes into play, and that's speed.
Sunday, April 22. 2007
Epson is one of the leading innovators that is experimenting on the combination of speed and quality, plus portability. With their PictureMate Express version portable printer, users get fast quality print-outs that's relatively cheaper than what you'd get from other manufacturers. But since there are a damn lot of aspects popping up in the actual portable printing business, this printer doesn't quite make it as being a total mobile printing solution. For those people who lead such busy lives, even speed is not the only thing to concentrate your efforts on, you know.
Saturday, April 21. 2007
With this Epson portable printer, less functionality can be provided to its users compared to other portable printing machines. Other manufacturers are offering portable printing machines that have a shitload of functions and features that you'd think there's no goddamn need whatsoever for a separate computer! There are those that have CD burning capabilities, large data storage capacities, and the like. Now, who would've want a fast portable printing device with less functions and features when you could get one at the same price, but has a damn lot more functions to offer?! I think maybe Epson needs some other technical planner or whatever, you know.
